StarDance Meetings
Weekly group meetings

This is our weekly group meeting, normally held on Thursdays afternoons, where we meet after lunch for coffee (and cookies on special occasions). Then we move to a meeting room, or stay outside when the weather is good, to talk about our recent results, exchange information both on scientific and practical matters, and we bomb each other with questions, to learn and help.
We occasionally have guests, that we subject to the same treatment: they talk about some scientific topic they are expert of and then we ask for many, many questions. So far we hosted: Alessio Mucciarelli, Lapo Casetti, Stefano Rinaldi, Laurane Fréour, Ellen Leitinger, Václav Pavlík, and many more will hopefully come to visit in the near future.
Annual project meetings
An invitation-only meeting held in Florence on 14-16 October 2025, to gather experts in binary stars and non-canonical stellar evolution. The meeting aims at bringing together the communities who work on different observational and theoretical open questions, and foresees ample space for discussion on a selected range of open topics. The conference aims at hosting about 40-50 participants on the Arcetri hill in Florence, where the Observatory and the Dipartimento di Fisica e Astronomia are located.
A meeting held in Florence on 7-11 October 2024, to gather experts in stellar photometry, especially in crowded stellar fields and time series analysis. We discussed about resolved stellar populations in different environments: star clusters, Milky Way components, and other galaxies in the Local Group. The conference hosted about 100 participants and was held in the historical halls of the Fuligno - Montedomini Foundation, in the heart of Florence.
